Additionally, Komen for the Cure ranked second on the 2010 list of the nation’s most trusted charities. Thank you to all who help us daily in the fight to end breast cancer!

Funding Priorities

A minimum of 25 percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race supports the national Komen for the Cure Grant Program, which funds groundbreaking breast cancer research, meritorious awards and educational and scientific conferences around the world.

Up to 75 percent of the net income from each domestic Affiliate Race stays in the local community to fund breast health education, breast cancer screening and treatment projects.


Brief Summary of Priorities

  1. Programs that provide resources for breast health care outreach and education.
  2. Programs that provide breast cancer screening, diagnostics and/or treatment for those women who are in need of breast health services and do no otherwise qualify for existing programs.
  3. Programs that focus on breast cancer prevention of modifiable risk factors such as alcohol consumption, inactivity, stress and weight using a variety of therapies.
  4. Programs that provide needed support services in under served areas of Mid-Missouri.
